FAQ on Visa Requirements

If you hold a residence permit or visa to any of the following countries, you may apply for an Electronic Travel Authorization and obtain a visa on arrival: Schengen countries, Australia, Canada, UK, USA or New Zealand. In addition, proof of valid visitor visa held for any one of the following countries: Australia, Canada, GCC, New Zealand, and Schengen countries, USA or UK. Visa must be valid for at least 30 days after arrival from the date of entry into Qatar. How to prove of residence: A resident card, utility bill, phone bill, credit/debit card bill, tenancy contract, and the official printed address page on passport.
Required documents for an ETA are: • A copy of your valid passport containing two blank pages with at least 6 months validity from the date of entry into Qatar. If you are a resident or have a visa in a country that is on the visa waiver list, include a copy of that residence permit or visa. • A complete and correct visa application form. Description:
The Ministry of Interior (MOI) issues this visa to GCC residents in authorized professions and their accompanying persons upon arriving at any port of entry to Qatar for visit or tourism purposes. The visa is valid for one month and it can be extended to a maximum of three months.

Online Instructions:

  • Log in with your smartcard to MOI e-services portal.
  • Select “Visa Services”, then “Issue Visa” and choose “Visit Visa for GCC Residents”.
  • Fill out the required information, such as name, birth date and place, passport details, phone number and address.
  • Enter your email address, if you want to receive a soft copy of the visa application receipt.
  • Click on “Confirm” and pay appropriate fees to issue the visa.

Additional Information

  • The user shall own a smart card to use the service.
  • The profession of the visitor shall be one of those accredited by the competent authority.
  • The accompanying person shall be under the personal sponsorship of the resident and shall have a residence permit with three month validity.
